Matter Dance Company believes dance should be created for the audience as well as the dancers. We pride ourselves on our unique perspectives on dance and performance while continuing to strive to be accessible and entertaining!
MDC has been featured nationally on ABC's The Gong Show and locally in Dance Chicago, Chicago Sketchfest, Around the Coyote Festival, Open House Dance Collective and the Chicago Women’s Funny Festival. Additionally, MDC has choreographed and danced for music videos and worked with companies like Samsung, Farmers Insurance, and City Souls in their local Commercial. Matter Dance Company has been named the ”Best Dance Company” by the Chicago Reader (Reader’s Choice) for six years in a row and Barreca was named “Best Choreographer” three times. Matter Dance is a not-for-profit organization with 501(c)(3) status. |
